Chonky helps you get your dog to a healthy weight with a daily plan for meals, treats and walks. We collect as little as we can. There's no account, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising.
What stays on your phone
Your dog's profile (name, breed, age, weight and body check answers), the plan, meals, treats, walks and their routes, weigh-ins, photos, badges and rewards are stored only on your device. We don't receive them. Deleting the app, or using Erase data on this phone in Profile, removes them.
Food safety check
When you choose to check a food, the photo and your dog's breed, age and weight are sent to our server and to a partner service that reads the photo and returns an answer. We ask for your permission before the first check.
- We don't store the photo, and it isn't used to train any models.
- To prevent abuse, we keep a daily count of checks tied to a one-way scrambled version of an app-generated ID and of your IP address. The count is deleted within two days.
- The answer is guidance, not veterinary advice.
Matching your dog's sticker
During setup you can choose to match your dog's sticker to a photo. If you do, the photo is sent once to our server and to a partner service, which suggests a breed and the sticker's colors and features. We don't store the photo, and it isn't used to train any models. The photo you take stays on your phone as your dog's "before" photo.
Location
During a walk, your location is used on your device to measure distance and draw the route. It is never sent to us.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your device. We don't send marketing messages.
Subscriptions
Apple processes all payments. To confirm your subscription we may use a subscription service provider, which receives your purchase history and an anonymous ID. Neither we nor that provider see your payment details.
Tracking
Chonky doesn't use advertising trackers and doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Children
Chonky is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
You can use Chonky without the food check. You can erase everything on your phone from Profile, or by deleting the app. For any privacy question or request, email us.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
